Iwanu ga Hana «Non dire è un fiore»
Friday 18.11.2022
"Iwanu ga Hana" is a Japanese phrase that literally means "Don't say is a flower" and this is the title of the new exhibition by HANA - Trieste at EContemporary art gallery, which opening will be on November 18, 2022 from 17.00 to 20.30.
In Japan the link between man and nature is very strong and flowers in the Japanese culture have a great value: they are not only the protagonists of many legends but also they become the object of a real compositional and narrative art.
Flowers and plants, beyond pure aesthetics, carriers precise messages, emotions and feelings.
The interpretation of the title is interesting because emphasizes how, in Japanese culture, the phrase "don't say is a flower" it is a reminder that the unspoken word is considered much more precious than a spoken word. It is a culture in which among the relationships between people what is not said has equal - if not greater - importance than what is revealed instead.
In the title there is also the word "Wa" which in Japanese means the way to harmony and in this exhibition the harmony emerges vibrantly thanks to the essential artistic compositions in which flowers become such not because they are faithfully represented, but because the hands and the soul of the artist model shapes and colors.
The exhibition refers to the essential of words and things as in Japanese culture so much loved by the artist.
The visitors will enter in contact with their emotions in an intimate way entering in a garden of delicate imaginary flowers manually assembled using only paper, glue and wire.
In some cases, Hana's floral compositions become almost small works by Ikebana thanks to interesting bases of wood created exclusively for the exhibition by "Blu di Prussia" laboratory with the aim to highlight artist' s feeling and creativity.
