Mascarin’s assemblages have multiple charms: they absorb irony, mimesis, acknowledge the chaotic, contradictory and frantically accelerated reality of our world, they recycle and invent a new reality by transforming objects, which are stripped of their original purposes so that they can assume a new identity as objects of art.
