Archivio Generale del Comune di Trieste

Since 1776, the Archive has been conserving documents produced and acquired by municipal offices. The documents and records held in the 10-kilometre-long archives include the minutes and proceedings of the city administrations from 1861 to the present, as well as acts produced by Civic Magistrates, the Technical Office, the General Secretary, the Mayor’s Office, the Municipal Cemetery Service, and documents relating to council concerns (policing and food administration, legal services, contracts, trade, employment, education, public and industrial services, etc.). Access to the General Archive is shared with the adjoining Library.
