Istituto Livio saranz

The Institute, established in 1980 and named after a leading character of post-WWII trade unionism in Trieste, is a cultural foundation aimed at enhancing and promoting materials and documents concerning Labour History, mostly at a regional level. It holds a significant archival heritage declared by the Archive Superintendence of Friuli Venezia Giulia to be of major historical importance. The conserved items come principally from trade union institutional archives, trade union related material produced by factory and company workers’ organisations, and private sources including managers, workers, and political and trade officials and activists from Trieste and Friuli.
