The second floor of the majestic building, constructed in 1875 by Giovanni Berlam at the corner of Via Imbriani and Via Mazzini, contains an apartment of approximately 600 m2 with the furnishings and works of art that Mario Morpurgo de Nilma donated to the City of Trieste in the mid twentieth century. The sumptuous decor, reflecting the eclectic taste of the late nineteenth century, is a unique and unusually complete example of the lifestyle of Trieste's entrepreneurial class to which the Morpurgo family belonged.
